Posting a PLC Job

PLCEdge’s job board is powered by Simply Hired. If you are posting a PLC job here, you place a featured listing at the top of the normal listings at PLCEdge. It is important to note that you are not just placing the ad here but also across 25,000 partner sites within the Simply Hired network. Placing an ad here for any PLC job makes a lot of sense since we have hundreds of visitors a day who are involved and interested in PLCs. In addition, you pay a set fee for a given amount of days, not for every click, as some other Job listing services require.

Below I listed some tips on posting a PLC job at PLCEdge.

If you abbreviate words such as Mgr. instead of the full spelling, when a potential candidate does a word search it will be missed.

I think it is important for you to provide a description about your company and why a potential candidate would find this position especially appealing. Mention what your business does, where it is located, and what kinds of products or services that you produce. Also, include some information on benefits, training, career opportunities, and the culture at your company. Include your company's website address when posting a PLC job.

The job title is important because it is one of the first things seen, so make it descriptive rather brief. Don't use internal title or job numbers they tend to make the description appear impersonal. After all, who wants to be just a number in an organization?

Stating a salary range is important so that no one's time is wasted. Not listing salary might cause some to think the job is not real and the company may just be putting out feelers or collecting data for a future position.

Giving a brief list of responsibilities helps a candidate determine if they fit the job. So provide a brief list of what they would be doing on a job, to whom they would report to, whether or not they supervise others, and of course whatever travel requirements may apply.

Provide a list of requirements such as education, training, degrees, certifications, and special skills that apply to the job. In addition, list personal attributes such as excellent communication skills. Consider classifying these requirements into the Must Haves and the Desirable.

All this information can make your job-listing stand out from others that the candidate may be considering and choose to contact your company. After all that is the point right!
